At the Y, we know parents need a break from time to time. With Kids Night Out, parents enjoy a night out while kids engage in fun and safe activities at the Y. Kids enjoy games, crafts, dinner, swimming and more centered around a unique monthly theme. Kids must be at least 3 but less than 13.
Join us in the Wellness Corner for a costume party and treat exchange. Bring a dozen or so of your most beloved fall treat recipe (or favorite store bought snack) so we can swap and share. For homemade treats, please bring a copy of the recipe so we can all leave with new favorites.

The YMCA will be hosting a trunk-or-treat event that will be open to the public. Please feel free to bring the children in your life for some trick or treating at our Urban Farm. If you are interested in volunteering to hand out candy, please email laurencrome@kansascityymca.org. We will also be accepting candy donations through October. There will be a collection bin near the Welcome Center.
Join us in Community Room D for Trivia! We will play for small prizes and enjoy one another’s company. Feel free to bring snacks for yourself or to share. Sign up on the sheet at the Welcome Center so we have a headcount.
This month’s book club will meet in the Wellness Corner to discuss “The Thursday Murder Club,” by Richard Osman. This cozy murder mystery follows a true crime club in a retirement community as they get thrown into the middle of an active murder case. Perfect for fans of shows like Only Murders in the Building and true crime podcasts.
Participants can buy their own copy, or borrow one from MidContinent Public Library by picking it up directly from the Y. No need to RSVP, but contact Lauren at laurencrome@kansascityymca.org if you would like a copy of the book provided.
The North Kansas City YMCA will host the Clay County Senior Resource Fair in the gymnasium. This event will feature multiple resources, opportunities and activities that are available to older adults in our community. All are welcome! No RSVP is necessary.
Gather in the Wellness Corner as we play bingo. We will have fun spending time with one another as we play for a chance to win small prizes. We will play five rounds, two cards each round. Winners of each round will receive a prize.
No need to RSVP to this free event. Feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks. Coffee will be provided. This event will occur the first Wednesday of each month.
