The Y is working to help ensure that our community has access to fresh, nutritious food through Mobile Pantry food distribution programs in partnership with Harvesters. The programs address a growing need for those unsure where their next meal will come from. 

Participants stay in their vehicles while volunteers load fresh produce, canned goods and a variety of other non-perishable items into their vehicles. All in need are welcome. The Mobile Food Pantry at the Cleaver Family YMCA occurs on the third Tuesday of each month.

A new musical adaptation of the beloved novel and the hit Disney films is a heartfelt, comedic and unexpectedly emotional update on the American classic. When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. By spending a day in each other’s shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another’s struggles, learn self-acceptance and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter . Cost per ticket is $38 if paid by July 15; $43 thereafter. Includes a generous meal and show; choice of coffee, tea or soft drink; $2 drink gratuity; and staff escort. Transportation is on our own; parking is free. Payment secures your ticket.

Join us for our monthly pot luck gathering. Bring a dish to share and sign the food book. We will enjoy each other fellowship and company. Please register at the Welcome Center and sign the book for the dish you want to share.

Immerse yourself in the genius of the Maya – early disrupters living in cities of stone carved into the rainforest. By studying the stars they developed a calendar more accurate than any other in the world. Their discovery of the number zero opened the door for advanced mathematics. For the first time in the United States, the mysteries of the Maya come to life. With over 300 artifacts, discover how the Maya live on today – in their inventions that continue to shape our daily lives and in the millions who carry on the Maya tradition in language and lineage. Register by August 4. Meet at 11:00 a.m. in the Paul Henson lobby to carpool to lunch. Tour starts at 1:00 p.m. at Union Station.

Driftwood Ceramics Art Class

Join us as we take a hand building class at Driftwood Ceramics. Participants will build their own mug and choose a glaze. Finished pieces can be picked up from the YMCA after firing. Participants should wear comfortable clothes, hair should be pulled back, no rings or bracelets.

 
*Participants will meet at Driftwood Ceramics, 1827 Buchanan St., North KC. Transportation will not be provided, but carpooling may be arranged.

Join your friends to watch "The Lost City" in the Anthology movie Lounge. An introverted romance author goes on a book promotion tour with her cover model. During the tour, she is kidnapped by an over-the-top billionaire with a chip on his shoulder. Trying to prove he can be a real-life hero, he forces her to lead him on an adventure through the jungle in search of a treasure from her most recent novel. Her cover model, proving he isn't only a hero in the book, set out to save her.
 
Bring your own snack (popcorn will be provided) and drink if you want one. Space is limited to 18 for this showing so register early at the Welcome Center or online. This event is FREE.
