No matter what your experience level is, you can always have fun and connect with others at any of our Group Exercise and Water Fitness classes. With 11 centers in the metro, we have one of the largest class offerings in the city. Unlimited group exercise classes are included with your Y membership. (Specialty classes, with a nominal fee, vary by center.)

Cardio Classes

Get moving and keep your heart rate up with a cardio class at the Y. Here are just a few of our most popular cardio classes. 


Boot Camp

An intense workout for members who want to be challenged and pushed. This class is great for cardio conditioning and developing core strength.

 

INSANITY Live™

This challenging, group-focused athletic training, cardio conditioning, and total-body strength drills, designed for people of all levels. The moves are easy to follow—but the workout WILL challenge you, change you, and get you in the best shape of your life!

 

Kickboxing

This class provides a total body workout that targets core strength and balance for all ages and abilities. Participants practice kicks, punches, and self-defense strategies designed to increase cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, range of motion, and agility.

 

Step

Enhance your cardio endurance in this fast-paced class. Workouts are choreographed to offer full body exercise with movements on and around a step. Benefits also include improved coordination and balance. Classes may include core work and resistance training.

Choreographed Cardio

MixxedFit™

MixxedFit® is a dance fitness program that is a mix of explosive dancing and boot camp toning. All exercises are body-based and require no extra equipment. The choreography is easy to follow, allowing you to increase your level of intensity as needed.

 

POUND™

Channel your inner performer and rock your body with this modern day fusion of movement and music. Drum along to a slammin' soundtrack using Ripstix - weighted drumsticks designed to transform drumming into an intense, fat burning, full body interval workout that will leave you dripping sweat. ( Ripstix are provided)

 

TurboKick Live™

Turbo Kick Live combines traditional cardio kickboxing moves with high-intensity interval training (HIIT) for an unbelievable calorie burn. You’ll have a blast learning hard-hitting combos and edgy dance moves while torching fat and carving lean, sexy muscle in the most empowering class you’ve ever taken!

 

Zumba

Zumba takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba fitness classes are often called an exercise in disguise- Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check!

Active Older Adult Classes

Cultivate a healthy lifestyle at any age by staying physically and socially active with group exercise classes for active older adults. The benefits of staying active are wide-ranging: group fitness helps seniors stay socially connected, improve mental capacity, increase strength and mobility, and bounce back faster after illness or injury.

 

Enhance Fitness

Enhance Fitness classes are part of an evidence-based senior fitness and arthritis management program. Classes help individuals with arthritis improve strength, balance and cardiovascular health throgh low-impact exercises that are safe for all fitness levels. Pre- and post-program assessments are required to participate in the 16-week class.

 

SilverSneakers™

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.
