Newsies spins the inspirational tale of Jack Kelly - a charismatic newsboy who dreams of a better life. When the unscrupulous newspaper tycoon, Joseph Pulitzer, raises prices at the newsboys' expense, Jack along with spitfire reporter, Katherine Plummer, rouse the downtrodden "newsies" to stand up against Pulitzer and fight for what's right!
We will meet in the lobby at 11:30 a.m. for seating, lunch will be served at 12 p.m and the show begins at 1 p.m. The show typically lasts around 3 hours. Please note: transportation is not provided, and participants will need to get themselves to the theatre and back. Sign up at the Welcome Center by July 1. Tickets cannot be refunded after this date.
Meal planning can be overwhelming. The goal of this workshop is to not only give you some tips and tricks, but to work together with our certified Fitness Nutrition Specialist to build your personalized grocery list filled with fruits, vegetables, whole grains and healthy proteins and oils. We will also discover different ways to prepare food ahead of time, so that you can save money and time during your busiest weeks.
The Y offers Certified Personal Training instruction, accredited through NASM, that will help you become a nationally-certified personal trainer. These 22 sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays between October 1 and December 12. The deadline for registration is September 17. Register at the Welcome Center or online.
The Young Leaders Club connects future leaders ages 12-18 with adult role models who will help develop their leadership potential, while fostering a culture of service. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. from May 7 through May 30, 2024. With the help of YMCA role models and mentors, these young leaders will develop the required skills they need to make positive changes in their communities.
Come join our Youth Athletic Camp on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. between July 9 and August 1, 2024. During this camp, Nationally Certified Personal Trainers will work with youth ages 12-18 to provide supportive education on exercise foundations. This is done by incorporating speed, agility, power and strength & conditioning training. Our programs teach youth the importance of teamwork, leadership and safety alongside building upon exercise foundations.
Elvis: Aloha from Vegas traces The King's journey through the '70s. It was a period of reinvention, kicking off a seven-year annual residency at the International Hotel in Las Vegas, running through the sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden, and culminating in a historic international live satellite broadcast from Hawaii, all set to unforgettable songs like "Burning Love," "Suspicious Minds," and of course, "Can't Help Falling in Love."
To RSVP and make payment, visit the Welcome Center by February 29th. Lunch will be served at 12:00 pm, and the show will start at 1:00 pm. Transportation to The New Theatre & Restaurant is on your own, parking is free, meet at New Theatre at 11:30 a.m. Payment secures your ticket. Y members are welcomed to invite friends and family to join them.
