Journey back 800 years to experience the treasures and stories of Genghis Khan's 13th-century Mongol Empire. Presented in Kansas City for the first time, this world tour exhibition invites your entire family into an adventure across the vast grasslands of Central Asia, among the relics of Genghis Khan's reign. Experience life in 13th-century Mongolia. Entering the tents, battlegrounds and marketplaces of a vanished world. Explore Genghis Khan's life and those of his sons and grandsons during the formation, peak and decline of the Mongol Empire. Cost: $16/person. Meet at 10:25 a.m., in the Paul Henson lobby to carpool. RSVP and make payment by November 7 at the Welcome Center. Optional lunch following the tour.

Training and Certification

Gain the skills to save a life in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. In this course for ages 16 and older, learn how to keep people safe in and around the pool. The comprehensive course offers up-to-date information on how to guard by anticipating and preventing problems before they occur and how to take action to help those in danger when necessary. The course includes accident prevention, guarding techniques, pool management and even more safety skills.

Join us and take aim with Robin and his band of merry men and women as they champion the underdog and fight for justice. Laughs, romance and plenty of arrows fly in this all-out comic adventure. Kick-off the Halloween season with Swim with the Pumpkins at the Paul Henson Family YMCA! This free, family-friendly spooky event features sessions of open swim in the Y's pool with lots of inflatable pumpkins!

The event is open to YMCA members and the community! Participants will have the chance to win a real pumpkin and take home an inflatable pumpkin or real pumpkin as well.
 
Each session is 25 minutes. Registration is required for this event. Register online, visit the Welcome Center or call 913.642.6800 to sign up for a session.
