"Come Blow Your Horn" is about family and all the crazy, hilarious and wonderful things that happen when parents and their adult children get together. It’s 1961, the era of The Twist and swinging bachelor pads. Alan Baker, a 30-ish single guy with time, money and women to spare, welcomes his innocent and naïve baby brother Buddy into his den of iniquity while their horrified parents can only watch and overeat. With four Tonys, four Academy Award nominations and a Pulitzer Prize, Neil Simon is the most prolific, celebrated and awarded playwright in the history of Broadway. This semi-autobiographical comedy was his first hit and launched his unprecedented career.

During the years between World War I and World War II, 1918–1939, Americans embraced a freer, more open society. The works of art, design and architecture in what is known as the Art Deco style express a widespread confidence in the American dream. Technological advances and innovations in production and materials enabled buildings to increase in height and more people to travel, enjoy expanded leisure time, and furnish their homes with new objects. Yet it was also a complicated time, with racial tensions and economic depression further disenfranchising many Americans.
