What type of career is Early Education?
Early Education and Head Start jobs at the Y can be a great full-time or part-time job and are a great fit for those who have a passion to give infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children the best start in life, including everyone from students to retirees in the fields of early education, teaching and social work. Entry level jobs include Teacher Assistant. What are the requirements to work in Early Education or Head Start at the Y?
- High School diploma or GED.
- Six months experience in early childhood setting preferred.
- CDA preferred.
- Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Associates or Bachelor's degree with 30 credits of ECE.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred.
- Minimum three years’ experience working in an early childhood classroom setting preferred.
