Essential Child Care

Support During
COVID-19 Response

The Y is offering child care for children of essential employees during the coronavirus pandemic at several locations in the metro. Free YMCA summer programs, including essential child care and YMCA Summer Day Camp, are available to employees of select health care and behavioral health organizations, thanks to scholarship funding from the Health Forward Foundation.

AGES: 5-12 (Kindergarten-6th Grade)
DAYS: M-F
TIME: Varies by location

Free Child Care for Health Care/Behavioral Health Workers

Employees from the following organizations can receive free YMCA summer programs.

Locations

The following Essential Child Care and Summer Day Camp locations are available to employees. You may choose any location that is convenient to you, regardless of whether you child attends the school district in which the program is located. Registration is open for June. Sign up by the week, and choose whatever weeks work for your family.

All programs includes a focus on achievement, relationships and belonging, plus fun activities such as arts, STEM, outdoor education and more.

Piper - Piper Middle School

Health
and Safety

Safety is always a priority. Based on input from public health officials, the following procedures will be in place.

  • Daily temperature checks for youth and YMCA staff
  • Daily wellness questionnaire for youth and YMCA staff
  • Face coverings for YMCA staff
  • Mandatory hygiene and cleaning breaks

We also will continue to follow health and safety guidelines that are always in place in our programs, including staff training in CPR, first aid, recognition of illnesses, signs and symptoms of abuse, child abuse prevention and risk management.
