All children ages 14 years and younger are required to pass a swim test before being allowed to be in a YMCA of Greater Kansas City pool without a personal flotation device or without direct adult supervision. Children ages 9 years and older can use the pool independently without a parent if they pass a test, but children ages 8 years and younger who pass the test must still have a parent present in the pool area. A parent needs to remain in the building.
