Free Before and After School and Full-Day Programs
Relief is here for families. Families can now enroll in Y Club Academy before and after school programs and full-day Y Learning Academy programs in Kansas at no cost through the end of the year!
This course provides training to individuals who hold current lifeguard certification from other approved lifeguard training agencies. This is a modified course that acknowledges current lifeguard experience and provides participants with the education to become a certified YMCA Lifeguard.
In addition, participants will also renew their certifications in Basic Life Support, Basic First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen. The Leadership Competencies this course meets for the Leader level are Inclusion, Influence, Communication, Decision Making, and Emotional Maturity.

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City Winter Basketball Tournament is available to those in Grades K through 5th.
The tournaments will be held at various locations in the KC Metro Area.

This course is designed to provide participants the knowledge and skills necessary to be a lifeguard and professional rescuer. Participants will be certified in American Safety and Health Institute’s (ASHI) courses: CPR Pro for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid for the Community, and Emergency Oxygen Administration. The course presents information on the skills and knowledge lifeguards need in pool, lake, river, surf, and waterpark environments.
The comprehensive course offers up-to-date information on how to lifeguard by anticipating and preventing problems before they occur and by taking action to help those in danger when necessary. The course covers safety skills, accident prevention, scanning, guarding techniques, emergency systems, rescue skills, first aid in aquatic environments, spinal injury management, open water dangers, legal responsibilities, pool maintenance basics, and information on how to get a job as a lifeguard.
The leadership competencies this course meets for the Leader Level are Inclusion, Influence, Communication, Decision Making, and Emotional Maturity.

Lunch and Learn “Things You Didn’t Know About Medicare”:There are many misconceptions around the facts and details of Medicare. Gain the skills to save a life in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. In this course for ages 15 and older, learn how to keep people safe in and around the pool. The comprehensive course offers up-to-date information on how to guard by anticipating and preventing problems before they occur and how to take action to help those in danger when necessary.
The course includes accident prevention, guarding techniques, pool management and even more safety skills.
