Join us for a daytrip to Weston for wine and cheese. The first stop is the Weston Red Barn Farm, where we will enjoy farm animals, wagon ride, visit to the apple orchard and pumpkin patch. Lunch will be at the Green Dirt Creamery and a visit to the Weston icon, Pirtle's Winery, following by another stop at Jowler Creek, Missouri's first "green" winery and vineyard. Tour price includes round trip motor coach transportation, lunch, wine tastings, Red Barn Farm and staff escort. Min required to go 36. Secure yours by paying at the Welcome Center. No refunds possible after September 25. Members are welcome to bring family members or guests on this trip. Driver's gratuity ($2-$3 suggested) is not included.
 
NOTE: This event is for both Olathe AOA and North Kansas City AOA. The bus will leave from Olathe Family YMCA and stop at North Kansas City YMCA to pick up other members en route to Weston.

Join us for a Lunch and Learn hosted by the Healthcare Resort of Olathe. During this lunch and learn, Laura Hart will go over different options of power of attorney (medical, financial, durable). She will provide a power of attorney form members can fill out so she can answer any questions that may come up while filling out the form. She will also provide what she has witnessed happen both good and bad as examples of why having a Power of Attorney is so important. Plus, lunch will be catered by HCRO's chef! Four weddings and a free-for-all! Four dateless teenagers promised to be there for each other for better or worse. Now, more than 30 years later, that promise is put to the test in a series of high-strung, ill-fated and riotous weddings as this quirky quartet looks for love again and again. And again. "Always a Bridesmaid" is a rebel yell to laughter, love and the enduring power of friendship.
 
Cost per ticket is $39 if paid by October 6; $44 thereafter. No refunds after October 6. 
 
Ticket price includes a generous meal and musical show; choice of coffee, tea or soft drink; $2 drink gratuity; and staff escort. Transportation is on your own; parking is free. Y members are welcome to bring friends and family.

On September 19, you will head for the hills — or mountains to be exact — as you travel to Branson, stopping en route for an on-your-own lunch at Braum’s in Ozark, Missouri. Then you will drink and learn at St. James Winery, where you will enjoy snacks paired with their wines while learning about which wines go best with certain foods. (Soft drinks are available if you don’t drink wine).

Next, check into your hotel and freshen up before you head off to the Showboat Branson Belle for a show and dinner. September is a perfect time of year to be out on the lake and, as always, the food and show will be top shelf. Menu TBA.

After the boat ride, you’ll have time for a little shopping before returning making a short trip to see Legends in Concert. Tentative performers are Elvis, Blues Brothers, Elton John and Kenny Chesney. You will feel sure you are in the presence of the actual stars during this amazing show.

On the 20th, enjoy a hot breakfast at the hotel before checking out and driving over to the Top of the Rock. There will be golf carts for you and you will tour the beautiful grounds including a cave and waterfalls. This is always a group favorite! Lunch is included at Pickin’ Porch Deli, menu TBA. Before departing for home, you will get to see the gravity defying Grand Shanghai Circus. These dynamic artists will wow you with their dazzling performance. You will never see plates or a bicycle the same way again! On the way home you’ll have a surprise stop, where you can dine on your own and do a little shopping all in one spot.

Tour includes: staff escort roundtrip motorcoach, one night hotel with single-person room with luggage handling, three shows, and three meals-one breakfast, one lunch, and one dinner. Also includes two shopping stops. Driver’s gratuity is not included.
