United Healthcare has partnered with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City to bring public Medicare information sessions all around the Kansas City area. Sessions will cover the Medicare basics, different coverage options, enrollment and more. Meetings are open to the public with no registration necessary.

On Wednesday Aug. 10, the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, the Kansas City Credit Union (KCCU) and Kansas City Royals infielder Nicky Lopez celebrated the graduating class of this summer’s inaugural session of “Catch Success” — a financial literacy program designed to help Kansas City youth learn money management skills.

The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is proud to be named an inaugural United Way Impact 100 organization.

This year, United Way of Greater Kansas City launched the Impact 100 to provide unrestricted funding to the 100 organizations they believe are addressing the most vital health and human service needs in our community. The Y will use this funding to help youth reach their fullest potential in before and after school programs, summer day camps and Head Start programs across the metro, as well as youth programs at our Linwood Y.

University Health Community Care - Linwood is offering free sports physicals from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 16. The event is open to any youth in the community. Be ahead of the game by getting your child's annual sports physical done before school starts.

Kansas City Credit Union launched the “Catch Success” campaign for financial literacy along with Kansas City Royals infielder, Nicky Lopez, with a $10,000 donation to the Y. The check was presented at an event at the Linwood YMCA/James B. Nutter, Sr. Community Center, on Friday, June 3, 2022.

The new Teen Tech Center at the Linwood YMCA/James B. Nutter Community Center will give youth the opportunity to get hands-on technology training and mentoring. To celebrate, the Y hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony open to the community on Wednesday, May 11, at the Linwood location, 3800 E. Linwood Boulevard, Kansas City, Mo., 64138.
