Our preschool programs provide a nurturing environment where kids feel safe and supported while learning, growing, making friends and preparing for the world of kindergarten.

AGES: 3-5
DAYS: Monday-Friday
TIME: 7 a.m.-6 p.m. (full-day), 7-11 a.m. or 11 a.m.-3:15 p.m. (half-day), after care available
FEES: $170 / week (full-day) $100 / week (half-day with before and after care) $70 / week (half-day, no before or after care)
REGISTRATION: $75

Full-day and half-day options are available, plus before and after school care.

Our preschool program at Highlands Elementary offers a variety of features to provide your child with a positive experience. Our educated staff lead students through a curriculum focused on kindergarten readiness skills and incorporates the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Nutritious snacks are provided daily. Licensed by Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

Preschoolers have access to the Before and After School program for school age siblings who attend Highlands Elementary.

Space is limited. To enroll in a preschool program, call the Youth Development Services office at 913.345.9622 to ensure program availability. Download and complete the registration form below and return it using one of the following ways:

In order to attend a Y preschool program, all participants must complete an Emergency Information Packet and bring it to the site on the first day. 

Emergency Information Packet

All preschool program participants must complete an Emergency Information Packet. These packets include emergency information and health forms that the State of Kansas require for licensing.

Complete all forms in the packet and take a copy to your child's preschool on the first day. Please keep a completed copy of the Emergency Information Packet for yourself.

No School Days

For those irregular days when school isn't in session, such as seasonal breaks, conference days and in-service days, the Y offers No School Days for preschool participants. Information on 2018-19 school year dates will be announced once the school year begins.
