Our Pre-K and Preschool programs provide a nurturing environment where kids feel safe and supported while learning, growing, making friends and preparing for the world of kindergarten.


 

About

Our YMCA preschool program at Highlands Elementary offers a variety of features to provide your child with a positive experience. Our educated staff lead students through a curriculum focused on kindergarten readiness skills and incorporates the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Nutritious snacks are provided daily. Licensed by Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The Y also offers before and after school care for elementary students who attend Highlands Elementary, making it a convenient option for families with multiple children.

DAYS: Monday-Friday
TIME: School Year Pre-K A.M. session 8-11 a.m.; P.M. session 12:15-3:10 p.m.; Before and After Care 7-8 a.m. and 3:15-6 p.m.; Full-Day YMCA Preschool: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.; Camp: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
FEES: Pre-K: $80/week, $105/week with before and after care; Full-day YMCA Preschool: $190/week

2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR PRE-K AND PRESCHOOL PROGRAMS

Half-day Pre-K enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. Please download and submit this form to register. Half-day program participants must qualify through Shawnee Mission School District to register.

 

Full-day Preschool enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is open. Online registration is closed. To register, download and submit this form.
 

SUMMER DAY CAMP

Information for 2025 summer day camp will be available in early 2025.

 

Camp is open to ages 3-5 from any school or school district.
 

Hours: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
 

Weekly Themes: Pre-K camp will continue to be a structured program with summer fun activities. Each week features a unique theme with fun-filled activities that allow for physical movement, social interaction, educational opportunities, leadership building, personal growth and creativity. Campers are divided into small groups by age with activities appropriate to the interests and needs of each group. Y Summer Day Camps focus on caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all of our activities.
