Andrea Toney YMCA


As the Executive Director of the Cleaver Family YMCA, Red Bridge Family YMCA and Grain Valley programs, Andrea provides oversight and direction for the daily operation of the Y. For Andrea, the best part of her role is meeting new friends and building relationships with members and people throughout the community.

Her passions are around helping people live and lead healthier lifestyles, developing the youth in our community and providing socially responsible programs to the Kansas City area.  

Andrea began her career with the Y in 1999 and has been back with the YMCA of Greater Kansas City since 2006 serving in various roles and communities in the Kansas City area. She holds a degree in communications from Truman State University. Currently, she works to develop and strengthen community partnerships and provide programs that are inclusive to all that benefit the citizens of Kansas City.


Healthy Living Director

Billy began working at the Y in November 2016. He grew up in Kansas City and attended the University of Ohio - Athens, earning a degree in sports science. Billy holds certificates from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise, Yoga Alliance and Precision Nutrition. He has also been a swim coach at the Vivion Road Y and worked at Heritage College as the head of personal training.  

Working with and meeting Y members is Billy’s favorite part of the job. He is an All Natural award-winning bodybuilder and a member of the Directors Guild and Screen Actors Guild.



James started working at the YMCA of Greater Kansas City in April 2016 and became the aquatics director at Cleaver Family YMCA in October 2018.

He has 13 years of experience in aquatics. He has served as a YMCA lifeguard instructor, head guard and swim lesson instructor trainer. Prior to that, he was a lifeguard instructor and CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor at the American Red Cross.

His favorite thing about working at the Y is teaching people safety around water.

James grew up in Paola, Kansas and enjoys reading and playing trivia.
