Be Part of Our Team

Our Y is always looking for talented associates to help us make our community stronger. Explore and apply for full- and part-time job opportunities available at the Olathe Family YMCA.

Carolyn has worked in many different areas of the Y, in both the Greater Kansas City area and in Florida.

She was a membership coordinator and office manager at the YMCA in Broward County, Florida, while attending Florida Atlantic University. After graduation, she taught high school English.

When she moved to Kansas City, she started working part-time at the Blue Springs, Independence and Cleaver Y locations in healthy living and membership. After 17 months as a part-time associate, she became the Associate Executive Director. After two years in that role, she moved on to the American Heart Association as a Development Director, with a specific focus on the Heart Walk. She returned to the Blue Springs YMCA in July 2018, taking on the role of Executive Director. It's come full circle for her after eight years!

Being a mom to her three children is Carolyn’s main passion. She also enjoys biking long distances and exploring KC, especially the food scene. She is also fluent in Dutch.

Aquatics Director & Healthy Living Director

Keesha King has been in the aquatics industry for 13 years. She started working at the YMCA in 2010 as a BLS trainer and head lifeguard in Jefferson City before becoming an aquatics director at the Red Bridge Family YMCA in Kansas City, then later at the Schlessman Family YMCA in Denver. She became the aquatics director at the Olathe Family YMCA in March 2019.

Her favorite thing about working for the Y is cultivating the next generation of leadership through coaching current staff, programming and community ties. Keesha wants everyone to realize there are several opportunities and roles that can be played throughout the organization.

Keesha is a proud HBCU graduate who completed her bachelor’s degree in journalism at Lincoln University of Missouri. She holds certifications in pool operation, lifeguard instruction, swim lesson instruction and training.

Keesha enjoys hiking, swimming and socializing. But more than anything, she enjoys spending time with her four children and husband.
