YMCA OF GREATER KANSAS CITY

Youth Sports

Play, Learn, Grow

Kids as young as 3 can be active, build confidence, learn new skills, and make new friends through sports. At the Y, every child gets to play and be part of the team. Our coaches focus on teaching game basics, improving skills, and fostering teamwork in a positive, encouraging environment.

Youth Basketball

Basketball was created by Dr. James Naismith at a YMCA in 1891, and the tradition continues today. Youth Basketball promotes active kids, healthy competition and the Y's values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Make a Gift

As a nonprofit, mission-driven organization, the Y strives to turn no one away because of the inability to pay program registration fees. Your gift to the Y’s annual campaign gives provides financial assistance to make sure all kids who want to play sports at the Y - regardless of their background or their family’s resources - can be part of a team.
