Come hear how the KU Alzheimer’s Disease Center is changing the future for millions of people at risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Field trip to Suburban Lawn & Garden with Lunch at Jake Stacks BBQ. Tour Suburban Lawn & Garden. Bring home some spring planting supplies. Lunch following tour at Jack Stacks BBQ which is optional and at your own expense. Groups will be carpooling departing at 9:30 a.m. and returning no later than 1:30 p.m. Please register at the Welcome Center

AOA core training Active Older Adults

Get a cardio workout that's safe, heart-healthy, and gentle on the joints in this class designed for active older adults. The workout includes easy to follow, low-impact movements. It may also include strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball.

AOA Chair Yoga Active Older Adults

12:30pm - 1:15pm (45 min)
Studio A with Kerri M.

Move your entire body through yoga poses that are modified using a chair for stability and balance. Yoga promotes relaxation and mental clarity through breathing exercises and gentle body postures. This class is great for people with limited mobility or range of motion.

Enjoy fun, low impact exercise as you move through a variety of exercises designed for active older adults. Increase your muscular strength and range of movement, which will help you with activities of daily living. Exercises may use hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball for resistance.
