Jamie
Parrett

Jamie Parrett Headshot

Executive Director

Jamie first became involved with the Y as an intern in 2008. Her Bachelor of Exercise Science from Wichita State University gives her a unique understanding about the human body and how it adapts to exercise.

She has served our members as the associate executive director at Platte County Community Center South, the executive director at Paul Henson Family YMCA and a wellness specialist, healthy living director and membership engagement director at Platte County Community Center North, where she is now the executive director.

Jamie transitioned into her current role as the executive director of the Paul Henson Family YMCA in the fall of 2016.

 

Betsy
Jones

Betsy Jones - Member Engagement Director

MEMBER ENGAGEMENT DIRECTOR

Betsy has served in a variety of roles across the metro area since she started working for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City in 2003.

She was a welcome center associate, business director, membership director and associate center executive at the Vivion Road YMCA. She served as the corporate membership and marketing director for Youth Development Services. She was also a family advocate at Thomas Roque Head Start.

She loves working with our Y members, as they keep her smiling!

Prior to her career with the Y, she owned a retail and event planning business with her family. She holds a degree in marketing and management from Oklahoma State University. In her spare time, she cheers on her daughters in their volleyball games. Her hobbies include camping, fishing, traveling and barbecue. She's a certified barbecue judge and has judged the last eight American Royal Invitational competitions.

Aquatics Director

Starla
Bargmann

Healthy Living Director

Starla has been at the YMCA of Greater Kansas since 2012. Prior to being the healthy living director at Platte County Community Center North, she served as a group exercise instructor, healthy living coach, personal trainer and LiveStrong at the Y certified instructor. She is also a NETA certified personal trainer, and a YUSA certified group exercise instructor.

Starla has a master’s degree in teaching. Before working for the Y, she was a high school history teacher for six years and a preschool teacher for two years.

When she isn’t working, she is gardening. She and her family have a minifarm where they raise chickens, sell eggs and raise turkeys for Thanksgiving.

Devin
Hinnant

Sports Director

When Devin started working for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, he was a sports official and sports program assistant at the Paul Henson Center. He is now the sports director at the Linwood and North Kansas City locations.

He joined the Y family full-time after spending three years as a consultant at Cerner. His favorite part about being at the Y is helping kids reach their potential and discover new skill sets through sports.

Devin grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and has a Bachelor of Science in community health education from the University of Kansas. He is currently working on his master’s in health, human performance and recreation with an emphasis in sport and leisure management at Pittsburg State University.

His hobbies include weight lifting, coaching football and track and field and enjoying the Kansas City Chiefs and KU basketball.

Brent
Graham

DIRECTOR OF COMPETITIVE SWIMMING

Swimming is a big part of Brent Graham’s life. While competing in high school and college, he qualified for Junior Nationals and held a school record in the 500 freestyle at Wabash College in the NCAA III division.

Since then, Brent has been a swim coach, working with kids of all ages and abilities. He has certificates as a USA Swimming Coach Member and ASCA Level 2.  

Brent started working for the Y in August 2014 and says the best part of his job is working with kids and watching them grow both as swimmers and people. He believes swimming not only helps kids grow stronger physically, but also mentally and spiritually.  

Brent grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and has a degree in Spanish from Wabash College. He has also taught Spanish for 7th and 8th graders.
