The Y is working to help ensure that our community has access to fresh, nutritious food through Mobile Pantry food distribution programs in partnership with Harvesters. The programs address a growing need for those unsure where their next meal will come from. 

Participants stay in their vehicles while volunteers load fresh produce, canned goods and a variety of other non-perishable items into their vehicles. All in need are welcome. This Mobile Food Pantry occurs on the fourth Monday of each month at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

New Theatre & Restaurant: "Dreamgirls"

Join at The New Theatre & Restaurant for a matinee showing of DreamGirls. Tickets are $40 and include the show, lunch, a choice of coffee, tea, or soft drink, and a built in gratuity for our server. Premium drinks and/or dessert can be purchased separately by participants once at the theater.
 
We will meet in the lobby at 11:30 a.m. for seating, lunch will be served at noon, and the show begins at 1 p.m., typically lasting around three hours. PLEASE NOTE: Transportation is not provided. Participants will need to get themselves to the theater and back! 
 
Sign up at the Welcome Center by Friday, July 28. Tickets cannot be refunded after this date.

Based on the show business aspirations and successes of R&B acts such as The Supremes, The Shirelles, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, and others, this spectacular musical follows the story of a young female singing trio from Chicago, Illinois, called “The Dreams," who become music superstars – three talented young singers in the turbulent 1960s, a revolutionary time in American music history. Full of onstage joy and backstage drama, DREAMGIRLS tells the rags-to-riches story of a Motown girl group and the trials and tribulations that come with fame and fortune .
 
Cost per ticket is $39 if paid by August 4; $44 thereafter. Price includes a generous meal and musical show; choice of coffee, tea or soft drink; $2 drink gratuity; and staff escort. Transportation is on your own; parking is free.
 
Payment secures your ticket. No refunds after August 4.

At the Y, we know parents need a break from time to time. With Kids Night Out, parents enjoy a night out while kids, ages 3 to 11, engage in fun and safe activities at the Y. Kids enjoy games, crafts, dinner, swimming and more centered around a unique monthly theme. Check-in is from 4:30 to 5 p.m. The program starts promptly at 5 p.m. and doors will be locked at that time, as the center will be closed. *3 year old's must be potty-trained.
