Training and Certification
Gain the skills to save a life in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. In this course for ages 15 and older, learn how to keep people safe in and around the pool. The comprehensive course offers up-to-date information on how to guard by anticipating and preventing problems before they occur and how to take action to help those in danger when necessary. The course includes accident prevention, guarding techniques, pool management and even more safety skills.

Friday: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wellness Event
The YMCA’s Women’s Self Defense class will teach women the basic skills necessary to protect themselves in case of an attack. Women will learn:
  • Situational awareness
  • Techniques to improve striking and hitting to get maximum power
  • Locations of where to hit opponent to achieve the most debilitating results
  • The use of available tools in your surroundings as weapons and shields

Class occurs 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Tuesday, November 7 through November 21. Register by November 7.
