English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes

Training and Certification

English as a Second Language classes develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for work, education and everyday communication! This class is for beginner English language learners with a focus on common phrases and building and a foundational English proficiency.

(NASM) Personal Training Certification

Ready for new career in health and wellness? Want to start your own personal training services? The Y offers Certified Personal Training (CPT) instruction, accredited through NASM that can help you become a nationally-certified trainer. Becoming a CPT can lead to rewarding work in health and fitness, helping make a difference in people’s lives. Register by September 30, 2023.
Class is every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

At the Y, we know parents need a break from time to time. With Kids Night Out, parents enjoy a night out while kids engage in fun and safe activities at the Y. Kids enjoy games, crafts, dinner, swimming and more centered around a unique monthly theme.
Christmas Lights and Mystery Dinner

This year's Christmas field trip takes us to a local tradition "The Plaza Lights." The bus will drive you through the 15-block holiday spectacle on the Country Club Plaza. Before the lights tour, we'll enjoy dinner together at a "mystery" location on the Plaza. After exploring the Country Club Plaza lights, we will make a stop at Crown Center to take some pictures at the Mayor's Christmas Tree.

Mobile Food Pantry

Nutrition

The Y is working to help ensure that our community has access to fresh, nutritious food through Mobile Pantry food distribution programs in partnership with Harvesters. The programs address a growing need for those unsure where their next meal will come from.
Participants stay in their vehicles while volunteers load fresh produce, canned goods and a variety of other non-perishable items into their vehicles. All in need are welcome. The Mobile Food Pantry at the Olathe Family YMCA occurs on the first Wednesday of each month.

Holiday Wind Down - Lower Body

Come enjoy the healing sounds of sound bowls, decompress with a chair massage and learn how to relax for the holidays! In this workshop, you will learn how to destress with breathing, myofascial release techniques, stretching and a few other tips to manage stress so you can enjoy the holiday season. Members - $5, community participants - $10.
