With 14 centers in the metro, we have one of the largest class offerings in the city. Unlimited group exercise classes are included with your Y membership. (Specialty classes, with a nominal fee, vary by center.)

20/10 Interval Training

20/10 Interval Training: High energy and fun! Timed by music this class will work you hard for 20 seconds and rest for 10. This class will give you a total body workout using; stability balls, resistance bands, and weights while improving your cardio endurance.

Adv. TRX Multi- Modality

this class includes the TRX suspension trainer, TRX RIP trainer, medicine and slam balls, kettle bells, battle ropes, hand weights and body weight to build functional strength and improve flexibility, balance, and core stability. **Beg.  is more guided instruction for each move;   Adv. is  a sequential flow of movements with less guidance.

Back to basic Pilates

Are you new to the Pilates world? This class will strengthen your core and increase flexibility. Pilates uses a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises to improve muscle tone, muscle balance, posture and flexibility, which can improve how you feel as you complete activities of daily living. The body's core muscles--the abs, back, and hips-- are the focus. Exercises also are designed to unite body and mind.

Full Body Conditioning

This total-body workout helps you increase muscle tone through muscular endurance exercises. Goddess

Goddess Training is a low impact, mat based class which uses very light dumbbells. It's a blend of Pilates, Barre (ballet exercises), yoga, and belly dance conditioning. Many of the exercises focus on smaller muscle groups therefore creating a longer, leaner, dancers physique. Class is designed  for women to focus on toning hips, thighs and abdominals.

Inversion Yoga

In yoga, an inversion occurs anytime we bring our head below our heart. While handstands and headstands typically come to mind when thinking about being upside down, we should not forget poses like downward facing dog or wheel. Whether you want to master an advanced handstand or you are a beginner learning the alignment for downward dog, there is a place for you here. Each class will offer a variety of warm-ups, strength work, and poses to help you learn or advance any inversion you are working toward. The work is self paced in a structured and safe environment.

Lap Swim

Tone your muscles and get a cardiovascular workout by swimming laps. Lap swim times are for swimmers who are capable of swimming continuously from one end of the pool to the other. LIVESTRONG

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a program for Cancer Survivors that focuses on the whole person on the road to recovery.  Take a first step to reclaiming your health in a safe and supportive environment along side other survivors and YMCA staff specifically trained as Cancer Exercise Specialists.  We will focus on rebuilding muscle, increasing flexibility and endurance, and improving self confidence.  This program meets twice per week for 1 hour for 12 weeks.  Alumni of the program can then return for 6 week recurring sessions.  Sign up today at the Welcome Center or ask for more information.

Kickboxing

This class provides a total body workout that targets core strength and balance for all ages and abilities. Participants practice kicks, punches, and self-defense strategies designed to increase cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, range of motion, and agility.

Step

Enhance your cardio endurance in this fast-paced class. Workouts are choreographed to offer full body exercise with movements on and around a step. Benefits also include improved coordination and balance. Classes may include core work and resistance training.

Active Older Adult Classes

Cultivate a healthy lifestyle at any age by staying physically and socially active with group exercise classes for active older adults. The benefits of staying active are wide-ranging: group fitness helps seniors stay socially connected, improve mental capacity, increase strength and mobility, and bounce back faster after illness or injury.

Enhance Fitness

Enhance Fitness classes are part of an evidence-based senior fitness and arthritis management program. Classes help individuals with arthritis improve strength, balance and cardiovascular health throgh low-impact exercises that are safe for all fitness levels. Pre- and post-program assessments are required to participate in the 16-week class.

SilverSneakers™

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.
