As community need for food assistance continues to rise, generous partners and supporters are stepping up to help restock the Y’s food pantries.
Harrah’s Casino
A food drive at Harrah’s Casino helped re-stock the bare food pantry shelves at the North Kansas City YMCA on November 6, 2025. Mayor Jesse Smith expressed his gratitude for the collaboration to address the increasing need for food.
In addition, Harrah’s also presented a check to support the North Kansas City YMCA’s annual campaign to support scholarships for memberships and programs, so all in need have the opportunity to participate at the Y.
A heartfelt thank you to the Harrah’s team for their generosity and continued commitment to eliminating food insecurity in our community.
UnitedHealthcare
Leaders from UnitedHealthcare visited the North Kansas City YMCA. Recent monetary donations from UnitedHealthcare and Optum will help stock the food pantry. We’re grateful for their partnership and dedication to supporting local families in need.
Y Club Food Drive
Many Y Clubs across the metro are also hosting food drives to support the YMCA of Greater Kansas City’s food distribution programs. Thank you to our Y Club families for helping fight hunger in our neighborhoods!
Select Y Club locations will continue collecting nonperishable food items through Friday, November 14, 2025.
