Basketball was created by Dr. James Naismith at a YMCA in 1891, and the tradition continues today. Youth Basketball promotes active kids, healthy competition and the Y's values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
Kids ages 3-5 have the opportunity to get in the game with our introductory Bitty Sports program. Kids learn the fundamentals of basketball in a fun and supportive environment through instructional practices and scrimmage games.
Bitty sports are discounted for Y members with a household membership.
Did you know we have sports for kids with disabilities and special needs? Kids of all abilities have the opportunity to play sports, including basketball, with YMCA Challenger.
