YMCA of Greater Kansas City Board Member Elected Treasurer of World YMCA
A member of the YMCA of Greater Kansas City Board of Directors was one of three new officers elected to World Alliance of YMCAs leadership, the highest governing body of the global YMCA Movement.
CiCi Rojas, who also serves as the YMCA of the USA Board Chair, was elected to a four-year term as the World YMCA Treasurer on July 5, 2022, at the 20th YMCA World Council in Aarhus, Denmark.
Rojas has served on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Greater Kansas City since 2013, including a term as Board Chair from 2018-2020. She has also served on the Executive Committee of the World YMCA for the past four years.
An accomplished C-suite executive-turned-entrepreneur, Rojas has built enterprises in for-profit environments and for economic, political and social change. Since 2017, she has co-led Tico Productions and Tico Sports LLC, a company established by her and her husband in 2012. The venture is a full-service, multimedia production and bilingual marketing agency that developed a Spanish-language broadcast and community engagement platform for professional sports teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs.
Rojas, who is a Kansas City native, also serves on Boards for Friends of the National Museum of the American Latino, and USA Volleyball, a sport that was invented at the Y.
Two other new World YMCA officers were elected at the 20th World Council:
- Soheila Hayek of YMCA Lebanon was elected the new President. For the past four years, she has served on the World YMCA Executive Committee.
- Ronald Yam of the National Council of YMCAs of Hong Kong was elected the Deputy President. He has served as Treasurer for the past four years.
