Big Brothers Big Sisters Kansas City (BBBSKC) and the YMCA of Greater Kansas City are proud to announce a new partnership aimed at enriching the lives of Kansas City youth through expanded access to wellness resources, mentorship engagement, and collaborative community programming.
This strategic alliance will provide Matches—youth ("Littles") paired with adult mentors ("Bigs")—with greater access to YMCA facilities, amenities, and programs across the metro area. Through this collaboration, BBBSKC and the Y will work together to promote health, wellness, and meaningful connection in the lives of young people.
Opportunities to Connect and Grow
Key elements of the partnership include:
- Complimentary day passes to YMCA locations for all BBBSKC Matches with valid Match ID.
- Co-hosted bi-annual engagement events for Bigs and Littles at YMCA facilities.
- Joint marketing efforts to raise awareness about mentorship and youth support opportunities.
- Inclusion of BBBSKC Littles in YMCA scholarship and camp programs, as appropriate.
- Cross-promotion of events, community resources, and success stories through newsletters, social media, and digital signage.
“Our partnership with the YMCA reinforces our shared commitment to youth development and community empowerment,” said Kristi Hutchison, Chief Marketing Officer of BBBSKC. “The Y’s facilities and programs will provide a new layer of enrichment for our Matches—making more meaningful experiences possible.”
Paige Salveter, Senior Vice President of Brand Strategy of the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, added, "The YMCA is excited to open our doors at our 10 locations across the KC metro, providing BBBS Bigs and Littles with safe spaces to mentor, play, and connect. Together, we can better serve our children, helping them thrive and grow into their full potential."
