Join us June 11–12 at the Olathe YMCA for LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA Instructor Training
At the YMCA, we believe in building strength in spirit, mind, and body—and that belief is never more powerful than when walking alongside cancer survivors.
We’re excited to offer a two-day LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA Instructor Training at the Olathe YMCA on June 11 and 12, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This training is a critical step in preparing instructors to lead our signature cancer survivor wellness program—a 12-week journey of healing, connection, and empowerment through exercise.
What You’ll Learn:
This training equips instructors with the tools and confidence to:
- Understand different types of cancer, surgeries, and treatment side effects
- Safely modify and adapt exercises based on each participant’s unique needs
- Build meaningful relationships that foster hope and community
- Support survivors physically, mentally, and emotionally on their path forward
By completing the course, instructors will not only gain practical knowledge but also help restore confidence, strength, and connection in the lives of people who need it most.
"LIVESTRONG at the YMCA isn’t just a program. It’s a lifeline of healing, connection, and new beginnings."
Who Can Attend:
Please note that this course is only available to staff at a LIVESTRONG® YMCA and requires the following prerequisites:
- CPR for Health and Well-being
- Foundations of Group Exercise or Foundations of Strength & Conditioning (or equivalent personal training certification)
