Strengthen your core and and increase flexibility with Pilates. This class uses a unique system of stretching and strengthening exercises to improve muscle tone, muscle balance, posture and flexibility, which can improve how you feel as you complete activities of daily living. The body's core muscles-- the abs, back, and hips-- are the focus. All levels from athletes to active older adults can benefit from Pilates. Exercises are also designed to unite body and mind.

Enhance your cardio endurance in this fast-paced class. Workouts are choreographed to offer full body exercise with movements on and around a step. Benefits also include improved coordination and balance. Classes may include core work and resistance training.

 

Enhance Fitness Active Older Adults

This class is geared toward people with arthritis.  It focuses on strength, balance, and cardiovascular health.  It is an evidence-based class that requires a pre/post assessment to show your results over a 16 week period.  

Silver Sneakers Circuit Active Older Adults

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

A.F.E.P Tai Chi Spirit, Mind, Body

Care for your body, mind, and spirit with Tai Chi. This Chinese martial art is know for its health benefits and as a means for dealing with stress. You'll work on relaxation, fluid movements, balance and breathing. Flowing postures blend elements of physical exercise and relaxation. This class is free with your Y membership.

BODYPUMP - Les Mills Strength Training

Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Always…Patsy Cline" is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer who died tragically at age 30 in a plane crash in 1963. The show is based on a true story about Cline's friendship with a fan from Houston named Louise Seger, who befriended the star in a Texas honky-tonk in l961, and continued a correspondence with Cline until her death. The musical play, complete with down home country humor, true emotion and even some audience participation, includes many of Patsy' unforgettable hits such as Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight…27 songs in all. The show's title was inspired by Cline's letters to Seger, which were consistently signed "Love ALWAYS… Patsy Cline." RSVP at the Welcome Center by December 1st, 2021. Meet at New Theatre at 11:40 a.m. Tickets: $38 for members, $40 for community participants
