What is included in my Y membership?

YMCA of Greater Kansas City member benefits include:

I'm visiting from out of town. Can I use my Y membership from another Y at your facility?

Yes. Our Y participates in the Y AWAY (Always Welcome at the Y) program, which allows Y members from across the country to use our Y up to 10 times in a calendar year without a fee.

Can I purchase a day pass to use the facility?

Yes. You can pay our daily use fee at the Welcome Center and access everything our Y has to offer for the entire day. The daily use fee for an adult is $15 and $8 for children ages 12 weeks to 17 years.

Do you have to be a member to use the swimming pool?

A membership is needed to use the pool on a regular basis, or you may pay a daily-use fee. However, swim lessons are available to anyone in the community for a flat fee. Y members receive a discount on swim lessons. You also may rent the pools and choose among our pool party packages.

I will need child care while I work out. What does the Y offer?

Our center offers child care through our Kids Zone program. Kids Zone is free of charge with your household membership for your child ages 3 months to 8 years old. Care is available for up to two hours while you are in the Y facility. Your child will be engaged in active play during their time in Kids Zone. We put safety first with a sign-in and sign-out procedure practiced at all times.

Does my child need to wear a personal flotation device in the pool?

All children 14 years and younger are required to pass a swim test before being allowed to be in a YMCA of Greater Kansas City pool without a personal flotation device or without direct adult supervision. Children 9 years and older can use the pool independently without a parent if they pass a test but children 8 years and younger who pass the test must still have a parent present in the pool area. A parent needs to remain in the building.
