English as a Second Language classes develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for work, education and everyday communication! This class is for beginner English language learners with a focus on common phrases and building and a foundational English proficiency.

NKC - Youth Triathlon
TRiKC is hosting a youth triathlon and aquathon at the North Kansas City YMCA! The event is for ages 1 to 14 and has both competitive and non-competitive divisions. The triathlon is a swim, bike, run event. The aquathon is a swim and run event. YMCA members receive a 20% discount when using the code YMCATRI23 at check out. The triathlon starts at 7 a.m. with the transition area open at 6 a.m. Triathletes should plan to arrive before 6:30 a.m. Register early to be guaranteed a t-shirt.

- Understand the chakras are energy centers of the body
- Understand which emotion and body organ is associated with each chakra
- Why regulating and maintaining the balance of each chakra is essential in hosting a healthy body and mind

This month’s book club will meet in the Wellness Corner to discuss “Educated,” by Tara Westover. Participants can buy their own copy, or borrow one from MidContinent Public Library by picking it up directly from the Y. NKC YMCA - AOA - Acrylic Painting
Please join us in the Wellness Corner to learn how to paint with acrylics. Our membership representative and resident art expert, Ernest Mickens, will lead you through a beginner friendly art class. Absolutely no experience is necessary. All supplies are provided. Please sign up on the sheet at the Welcome Center or email LaurenCrome@KansasCityYMCA.org by Friday, July 7 to ensure you have a spot.
