Reading a food label seems easy, but do you really understand what all the numbers and terminology mean? Join us for a free interactive program, where we will dive into the numbers and leave with a better understanding of what they mean and what to look for on your next grocery trip. Presented by Megan Hannigan of Partners in Primary Care. Due to Covid limitations, the lunch portion of this “Lunch & Learn” will be a take-home lunch. To receive a lunch, though, you must sign up by Monday, March 22. You can sign up at the Welcome Center, 913.393.9622. If you have an online YMCA account, you can also register online. Note, must register by 3/22 to receive a lunch. Masks will be required.

If you love to swim and care about the safety of others, we invite you to train to be a Junior Lifeguard. The course will help you gain the confidence and knowledge to apply for a lifeguard position at 16 years old. This program combines education with recreation, plus covers the technical skills of lifeguarding and the interpersonal skills to work with members and guests. Participants will learn about water safety, swim instruction, lifeguard skills, and leadership on the pool deck.
