Executive Director Carolyn Fischer

Carolyn has worked in many different areas of the Y, in both the Greater Kansas City area and in Florida. Most recently she served as the Executive Director of the Olathe Family YMCA.

She began at the Y as a membership coordinator and office manager at the YMCA in Broward County, Florida, while attending Florida Atlantic University. After graduation, she taught high school English.

When she moved to Kansas City, she started working part-time at the Blue Springs, Independence and Cleaver Y locations in healthy living and membership. After 17 months as a part-time associate, she became the Associate Executive Director. After two years in that role, she moved on to the American Heart Association as a Development Director, with a specific focus on the Heart Walk. She returned to the Blue Springs YMCA in July 2018, taking on the role of Executive Director.

Being a mom to her four children is Carolyn’s main passion. In her free time, she enjoys biking long distances and exploring KC, especially the food scene. She is also fluent in Dutch.

Jeff Lee - Membership Engagement Director

Membership Engagement Director

From: Hutchison, Kansas

What I like most about my role at the Y is helping the community accomplish their goals while being able to create effective programs that serve our members and their families. I grew up at the YMCA and was involved in many sports programs throughout my youth. It was a long held dream to one day work for the YMCA so once my wife finished School (she is a Psychologist at the VA) I took a leap of faith and left my long held career to come serve at the Y. Everyday is a new experience and our members remind me of how much joy it is to work for the YMCA.

I live in the West Plaza neighborhood of Kansas City with my wife, Beki, and our 3 children. I am an avid distance runner, cyclist and disc golfer. I am a Marine Corps veteran and I come to the YMCA after having served many years as a director of homeless ministries and programs helping men and women coming out of incarceration find stability through education and employment. I am a minister at Christ Community Church's Downtown Campus, leading Men's Ministries and I travel the country sharing my story of overcoming challenges to find success.

Chase Coffee -
Aquatics Director

Chase Coffee - Aquatics Director

From: Dallas, Texas

I have been in aquatics for about 10 years now, beginning as a lifeguard, swim team coach, manager and director in country clubs and parks and recreation.

My favorite part about my job is serving the community in different areas outside of my normal responsibilities in aquatics. I have the ability to impact people in different ways that I would not normally have the opportunity to do.

I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor’s degree in Conference and Event Planning with an emphasis on Event Marketing. I am a lifeguard instructor and swim lessons instructor trainer for Y-USA and a CPR instructor through American Safety and Health Institute.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and finding new places to explore with my husky.

Noah Phillips -

Noah Phillips - Kids Zone Coordinator

From: Buffalo, Missouri

I grew up volunteering at the YMCA in Buffalo, and ended up working there for 4 years! This led me to find out my passions. I am currently studying Music Education and Psychology. I want to be able to be there for my future students as a teacher, but also a friend. I just moved to Kansas City with my fiancé and we have three beautiful cats. I am so very grateful to be able to work this position and have a chance to make a change! Thank you!

My favorite thing about working for the Y is the impact we get to make on our kids in Kids Zone. We are getting to help them figure out who they are! This job truly is helping better our youth, and therefore helping better our future!
