To support strategic plan goals for philanthropy, the YMCA of Greater Kansas City has promoted two members of the senior leadership team.

Jessica Earnshaw is now vice president of development. In this role, she will work closely with the President and CEO and senior leadership team to develop strategies and tactics to support connecting the Y with individuals and organizations in the community, including cultivating and soliciting major gifts that further the mission.

Earnshaw previously served as associate vice president of community relations and giving since joining the Y in 2021.

Leo Prieto is now Vice President of Community Development. In this role, he will integrate social impact work across the Y to engage donors and highlight the Y’s mission as well as diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. In partnership with leadership, he will advance the Y through annual giving, major gifts cultivation, grants, endowment bequests and capital campaigns.

Prieto joined the Y in 2019 as executive director of the Linwood YMCA/James B. Nutter, Sr. Community Center and most recently served as associate vice president of diversity, equity and inclusion.

“Our philanthropy efforts are a key part of being able to provide much-need services and programs throughout the metro and ensuring organizational sustainability,” said Mark Hulet, president and CEO. “In their new roles, Jessica and Leo will help support impactful work to make sure all in our community have the opportunity to reach their fullest potential at the Y.”
