Ready for a new career in health and wellness? Want to start you own personal training services?  The Y offers Certified Personal Training (CPT) instruction accredited through NASM that can help you become a nationally-certified trainer.

Y CPT Classes Include:

Lifeguard
Certification

Lifeguard Training

Gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be a lifeguard and professional rescuer. Participants who complete the course will become certified as an American Red Cross Lifeguard with CPR-AED for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Administering Emergency Oxygen. This certification is valid for 2 years.

The comprehensive course offers up-to-date information on how to guard by anticipating and preventing problems before they occur and how to take action to help those in danger when necessary. The course includes accident prevention, guarding techniques, pool management and even more safety skills.

Junior Lifeguard Classes

If you love to swim and care about the safety of others, we invite you to train to be a Junior Lifeguard. The course will help you gain the confidence and knowledge to apply for a lifeguard position at 15 years old. This program combines education with recreation, plus covers the technical skills of lifeguarding and the interpersonal skills to work with members and guests. Participants will learn about water safety, swim instruction, lifeguard skills, and leadership on the pool deck.

CPR training

Be prepared for emergency situations. We offer a variety of courses that may include certifications in one or more of the following: CPR, First Aid, Oxygen Administration and how to use an AED (automatic external defibrillator). 

Babysitter Training
with Pediatric First Aid/CPR

Red Cross Babysitter's Training provides youth planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave, and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old. Course also includes Red Cross First Aid certification.
