Join us at the New Theatre & Restaurant for a matinee showing of Million Dollar Quartet. Tickets are $40 and include the show, lunch, a choice of coffee, tea, or soft drink, and a built in gratuity for our server. Premium drinks and/or dessert can be purchased separately by participants once at the theater.

We will meet in the lobby at 11:30 a.m. for seating; lunch will be served at 12 p.m., and the show begins at 1 p.m., typically lasting around 3 hours.

PLEASE NOTE: Transportation is not provided. Participants will need to get themselves to the theater and back. Sign up at the Welcome Center by Friday, May 26. Tickets cannot be refunded after this date.

Join us in Community Room D for our monthly potluck. The Y will provide sandwiches, drinks, plates, cups and utensils. Please sign up to bring a side dish or dessert on the sheet at the welcome center by Tuesday, May 21.

If you are able and willing to donate blood, there will be a Red Cross Blood Drive in Community Room D. Participants can come and go as is convenient. Please ask your healthcare provider if you are unsure about your ability to donate blood.

This month’s book club will meet in the wellness corner to discuss “The Sentence,” by Louise Eldrich.

Participants can buy their own copy, or borrow one from MidContinent Public Library by picking it up directly from the Y. No need to RSVP, but contact Lauren at laurencrome@kansascityymca.org if you would like a copy of the book provided. Books must be returned on or before the meeting date. If you have a MCPL account, and would like assistance with checking out a digital or audio copy via the Libby app, Lauren can help walk you through the process.

Join Ernest Mickens for in-person instruction in acrylic painting. All supplies will be provided for up to 10 people.

Gather in the wellness corner as we play bingo. We will have fun spending time with one another as we play for a chance to win small prizes. We will play five rounds, two cards each round. Winners of each round will receive a prize.

No need to RSVP to this free event. Feel free to bring your own lunch or snacks. Coffee will be provided. This event will occur the first Wednesday of each month.

At the Y, we know parents need a break from time to time. With Kids Night Out, parents enjoy a night out while kids, ages 3-12, engage in fun and safe activities at the Y. Kids enjoy games, crafts, dinner, swimming and more centered around a unique monthly theme. Register by April 20.
