AGES: 5+

Northland YMCA sports serve the North Kansas City, Platte County Community Center North and Platte County Community Center South. 

Typical Youth Sports Calendar

  • Spring (March-May): Youth Flag Football, Youth Soccer
  • Summer (May-July): Youth T-Ball and Baseball
  • Fall (August-October): Youth Flag Football, Youth Soccer 
  • Winter (November-February): Youth Basketball

Boys Basketball

AGES: 5+
GRADES: K-7th
PROGRAM LOCATION: Games will be at the North Kansas City YMCA or Park Hill Schools
DAYS: Games on Saturdays, coaches choose one night of practice per week
FEES: $75 Y members, $95 community participants; prices increase $20 on October 22

Children stay active and are part of a team with Youth Basketball. In a positive and structured environment, children develop basketball skills including passing, receiving, shooting, footwork and dribbling.

Girls Basketball

AGES: 5+
GRADES: K-7th Grade
PROGRAM LOCATION: Games will be at the North Kansas City YMCA or Park Hill Schools
FEES: $75 Y members, $95 community participants; prices increase $20 on October 22

Meet Our Sports Director
Devin Hinnant

Sports Director

When Devin started working for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City, he was a sports official and sports program assistant at the Paul Henson Center. He is now the sports director at the Linwood and North Kansas City locations.

He joined the Y family full-time after spending three years as a consultant at Cerner. His favorite part about being at the Y is helping kids reach their potential and discover new skill sets through sports.

Devin grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and has a Bachelor of Science in community health education from the University of Kansas. He is currently working on his master’s in health, human performance and recreation with an emphasis in sport and leisure management at Pittsburg State University.

His hobbies include weight lifting, coaching football and track and field and enjoying the Kansas City Chiefs and KU basketball.
