English as a Second Language classes develop your reading, writing, listening and speaking skills for work, education and everyday communication! This class is for beginner English language learners with a focus on common phrases and building and a foundational English proficiency.

Four levels are available. Classes will meet each Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Gain the skills to save a life in American Red Cross Lifeguard Training. In this course for ages 15 and older, learn how to keep people safe in and around the pool. The comprehensive course offers up-to-date information on how to guard by anticipating and preventing problems before they occur and how to take action to help those in danger when necessary. The course includes accident prevention, guarding techniques, pool management and even more safety skills.

Step back in time with the Jamesport Chamber's Amish Country Tour through the Amish farmlands, country shops and stores, and more. Learn all about the Amish, their customs, lifestyle and beliefs. Experience an Amish dinner at Gingerich Dutch Pantry. After, enjoy shopping and a Clydesdale-drawn carriage ride. Tour includes round trip transportation on a Crossroads Motorcoach, lunch, guided tour, carriage ride and staff escort. Sign up early for early-bird registration of $63/per person until March 20; $73 thereafter. Cost does not include the $2-$3 driver gratuity. Register at the Welcome Center to secure your spot.

This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to be a lifeguard and professional rescuer. Participants will be certified in American Safety and Health Institute?s (ASHI) courses: CPR Pro (BLS) for the Professional Rescuer, Basic First Aid for the Community, and Emergency Oxygen Administration.
The course presents information on the skills and knowledge lifeguards need in pool, lake, river, surf, and waterpark environments. The comprehensive course offers up-to-date information on how to lifeguard by anticipating and preventing problems before they occur and by taking action to help those in danger when necessary.
The course covers safety skills, accident prevention, scanning, guarding techniques, emergency systems, rescue skills, first aid in aquatic environments, spinal injury management, open water dangers, legal responsibilities, pool maintenance basics, and information on how to get a job as a lifeguard. Students must pass the physical skills test prior to the class and must be 16 years of age by the last day of the scheduled class.
