YMCA Center and Program Schedules Impacted by Chiefs Super Bowl Parade

In support of the community’s celebration of the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl Win, all YMCA of Greater Kansas City membership centers, Head Start and administrative offices will be closed Wednesday, February 15. Limited full-day programs will be available for Y Club participants. This will allow our staff and community to participate in the city-wide celebration of our Super Bowl Champions.
The YMCA of Greater Kansas City is one association that operates multiple Ys and program sites across the metro. Some of our locations will be greatly impacted by potential traffic or staffing challenges as a result of the celebration. We want to treat all of our associates fairly by giving everyone a holiday for this special community celebration.
Membership Centers
All locations will be closed Wednesday. With your Y membership, you can stay on track with your exercise at home using YMCA360, which offers 1,000+ online exercise classes and wellness programs for members of all ages. Access is free with your membership. You can stream programs anytime through the web on your computer or mobile device, or using AppleTV, iPhone, Android, iPad, AndroidTV and Roku. For more information and details about logging in, visit KansasCityYMCA.org/YMCA360.
If you are registered for a program that is scheduled for Wednesday, your center will contact you with more information and options for rescheduling. For more information, please visit or call your local Y.
Head Start Programs
All YMCA Head Start programs will be closed.
Y Club Before and After School and Full-Day Options
Area schools will be closed for the parade celebration. No Y Club before and after school programs will be available with school cancelled.
The following districts will offer full-day programs similar to an inclement weather day. Registration is on site at drop-off, on a first-come, first-served basis until the site reaches capacity.
- Blue Valley - at Cottonwood Point
- Platte County R-3 - at Pathfinder
Lee's Summit will not offer any programs because of limited staffing. This is an update to communication previously sent by the district.
Piper will continue to run their scheduled No School Day for those who are registered. Registration is closed, and we are unable to add more students.
Please email YClubSupport@KansasCityYMCA.org if you have questions or need additional information.
