NASM Personal Training Certification

The Y offers Certified Personal Training instruction, accredited through NASM, that will help you become a nationally-certified personal trainer. These 22 sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays between October 1 and December 12. The deadline for registration is September 17. Register at the Welcome Center or online.

Tickets will be available to purchase for the October 7 matinee performance of “An Old-Fashioned Family Murder” at the New Theatre & Restaurant KC. In 1942, a junior homicide detective stumbles upon the murder of a famed mystery writer. Come with us to watch him solve the case.
 
Ticket price is $40 for members, $45 for community participants.
 
The group will be carpooling; if you would like to, meet at Platte County Community Center South the day of the show at 10:40 a.m. Please register online or at the Welcome Center. Dress is business casual. Tickets are non-refundable. Tickets will go off sale September 2.

Join us on a private tour around Kansas City to learn more about the history of the KC Mafia. In the 1920s and 1930s, KC was living large, and we will learn the full story together. The tour begins at Union Station, and we will go to dinner after the tour concludes. Please note that dinner is on your own. Register online or at the Welcome Center.

To Kill a Mockingbird is primarily a novel about growing up under extraordinary circumstances during the 1930s in the Southern United States. The story covers a span of three years, during which the main characters undergo significant changes.
 
You are welcomed to bring your lunch or snacks, and guests are always welcomed. You must bring your own copy.

Youth Development Services

Babysitter's Training provides youth planning to babysit with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. This training will help participants to develop leadership skills, learn how to develop a babysitting business, keep themselves and others safe and help children behave, and learn about basic child care and basic first aid. The recommended age for this course is 11-15 years old. Course also includes Red Cross First Aid certification.
